An even grey lid over the water, with an easy breeze from the W and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Buckbee should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Leblanc follows at 78 km, then Saint-Félicien at 82 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Buckbee fishes better once you know its edges.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 15°C, while January sits near -19°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about early November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan any trip to Lac Buckbee around it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Peroux sits 1.9 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Lac Buckbee.
