Dull, settled light over the water, with light air out of the SSW with the glass holding level. On Lac Brunelle, work bays that hold the day's warmth first. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Brunelle in Lanaudière, Quebec. Around the bank it is mixed forest. It covers about 2 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Our Lanaudière list holds plenty of bigger water. Manawan lies 54 km from the water. It is 133 km to Trois-Rivières, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. At Lac Brunelle light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Lac Brunelle fishes to that pattern most years.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. The nearest alternative is Lac aux Nervures, 1.2 km out. Ask locally about Lac Brunelle if anything is unclear.
