A closed sky with even light today, with a light S breeze and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Lac Brock should be near the calm side of the wind. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Brock lies in Mauricie, Quebec. Elevation runs to 432 metres. At roughly 8 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. For a base, Mandeville sits 26 km out. Beyond it, Saint-Élie-de-Caxton at 30 km and Saint-Gabriel at 34 km. What else is close: Lac Noir just 1.5 km, Lac Chapleau 1.8 km away, Lac du Raton Laveur just 1.9 km, Lac Brochard 1.9 km away and Lac de la Fouine just 2.6 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. The near bank of Lac Brock is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -14°C for January. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan any trip to Lac Brock around it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Lac Noir, 1.5 km away. Ask locally about Lac Brock if anything is unclear.
