A grey, even sky over the water, with dead-still conditions with the barometer flat. The fish at Lac Boron are likely to sit near the first drop-off and weed lines. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Boron is listed under Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. The ground around here is spruce and muskeg. About 7 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Most waters listed here for Nord-du-Québec are larger. Chibougamau at 73 km is the nearest place to stop. Chapais is 82 km and Normandin 117 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Nord-du-Québec: Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac Boron the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. The season on Lac Boron rarely departs from it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Moufle, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Boron as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
