Heavy overcast holding through the day, with enough WSW wind to stack food downwind with a settled glass. On Lac Bois Franc, work structure within a cast of the bank first. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Lac Bois Franc is an Abitibi-Témiscamingue water, Quebec side. Elevation runs to 270 metres. At 14.32 sq km you are fishing a fraction of it whatever you do. The shoreline runs to about 60 km, far more than one trip can cover. Few waters listed in Abitibi-Témiscamingue are bigger. Notre-Dame-du-Lac at 33 km is the nearest place to stop. Témiscaming is 37 km away, with Mattawa at 49 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Bois Franc the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The year swings from about -14°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Bois Franc fishes to that pattern most years.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Petit lac George, 6.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the current arrangement for Lac Bois Franc.
