Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a faint SW drift and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Bill should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac Bill in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Tidal water begins 12 km from here. This is a pocket water of some 10 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. A shoreline of some 1.3 km keeps the choices simple. Saint-Alexandre lies 52 km from the water. The big place round here is Saguenay, 305 km distant. This one is safely inside the county line.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. At Lac Bill light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Seasonal averages run from -16°C in January up to 16°C in July. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac Bill the season follows that pattern closely.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. The nearest alternative is Lac du Calumet, 0.8 km out. Nothing on Lac Bill should be assumed from this page alone.
