Solid cloud cover today, with the surface near flat with the barometer flat. Give reed fringes and open pockets the first hour at Lac Bertha. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Set in Mauricie, Lac Bertha is a Quebec water. This is boreal forest ground. This is a pocket water of some 9 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. The nearest place of any size is Leblanc, 96 km away. Beyond it, Manawan at 122 km and Senneterre at 133 km. What else is close: Lac Irene the better part of 0.8 km, Lac Leslie roughly 1.3 km, Lac Ace the better part of 2.9 km, Lac Boubee roughly 3.1 km and Lac Pete the better part of 3.2 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Public occurrence data for Mauricie names northern pike, brook trout and walleye. The county list is broader than any single water. Treat Lac Bertha as a water to read rather than to cover.
The seasonal spread runs -18°C to 17°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Expect Lac Bertha to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Failing this one, try Lac Irene, 0.8 km away. For Lac Bertha in particular, ask before you travel.
