Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a firm SSW blow and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Bernadette is inflow corners and shaded margins. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Laurentides, Quebec, is where Lac Bernadette sits. It sits at 410 metres above sea level. At about 24 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 2.3 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Head to Manawan, 42 km away, for anything you forgot. Ferme-Neuve follows at 57 km, then Rivière-Rouge at 64 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Anyone new to Lac Bernadette should walk it once before setting up.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. The season on Lac Bernadette follows the weather closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Should this one be busy, Lac Bupreste is 1.7 km off. Confirm before you fish Lac Bernadette.
