Hard light and clear air over the water, with dead-still conditions and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Lac Bellisle will be around sheltered bays and points. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, this is Lac Bellisle. Elevation runs to 280 metres. Surface area is around 46 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Some 6.6 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Notre-Dame-du-Lac lies 42 km from the water. After that come Ville-Marie at 45 km and Saint-Isidore at 45 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Anyone new to Lac Bellisle should walk it once before setting up.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -15°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Bellisle.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Gendreau, 1.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Lac Bellisle may have changed since it was mapped.
