A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with a kind WNW breeze on the water and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Lac Bellevue is any hard bottom among the soft. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Mauricie in Quebec is where Lac Bellevue sits. What surrounds it is rolling bush. The whole thing is a single swim; walk it in a minute. Most waters listed here for Mauricie are larger. Shawinigan is the closest town at 12 km. Trois-Rivières lies 18 km off, Saint-Élie-de-Caxton another 20 km. Others worth noting: Lac Saint-Louis just 2.1 km, 2.8 km out stands Lac Hebert, Lac Morin just 4.8 km, 5.5 km out stands Lac Doucet and Lac Ratelle just 5.5 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Mauricie names northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Bellevue light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -13°C. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Lac Bellevue to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Failing this one, try Lac Saint-Louis, 2.1 km away. Signs at Lac Bellevue carry more weight than any list.
