Fresh rain topping the water up today, with a kind SSE breeze on the water with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Beigue will be around the shaded margin through bright spells. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac Beigue in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The bank is 371 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 17 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Roughly 2.0 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. The nearest town is Normandin, 60 km away. For a city, Saguenay is 176 km off. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish among the fish reported. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Lac Beigue gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan any trip to Lac Beigue around it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac Magalas is 0.9 km distant. Nothing on Lac Beigue should be assumed from this page alone.
