A grey, even sky over the water, with light air out of the S and pressure going nowhere. Lac Beaver should fish best around any hard bottom among the soft today. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Lac Beaver in the Estrie part of Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Estrie. Lac-Brome is the closest place, 4 km off. Waterloo is 16 km and Sutton 17 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Estrie include rainbow trout, white sucker, pumpkinseed, brook trout and rainbow smelt. The county list is broader than any single water. The shape of Lac Beaver rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Typical July readings run about 19°C; by January the average is down near -11°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near mid April. The season between ice runs from about mid April to early December. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. It holds true on Lac Beaver more years than not.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Etang du Moulin at 3.3 km is the sensible second choice. Check the position on Lac Beaver before loading the car.
