A still, cloudless night on the water, with just enough SW wind to ripple the surface and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Banane should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Banane in Côte-Nord, Quebec. The water sits 93 metres up. It runs to roughly 14 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. The edge runs 2.0 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Head to Havre-Saint-Pierre, 125 km away, for anything you forgot. Gaspé follows at 162 km, then Perce at 170 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Fish Lac Banane to its features, not to its size.
Between January at about -13°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Banane.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Poulin, 1.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Banane for certain.
