No direct sun expected today, with a faint S drift with the barometer flat. The fish at Lac Avezac are likely to sit near any hard bottom among the soft. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac Avezac. It stands 552 metres above sea level. At roughly 25.07 sq km it ranks among the larger waters in the region. The shoreline runs to about 126 km, far more than one trip can cover. Size puts it in the front rank of our Côte-Nord list. The nearest town is Labrador City, 203 km away. After that come Wabush at 208 km and Fermont at 216 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. At Lac Avezac the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The range across the year is -25°C to 12°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Ice-out usually falls in early June, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Averages suggest open water from about early June through to roughly late October. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Avezac runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac Andry, 9.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Lac Avezac may have changed since it was mapped.
