Flat light and a covered sky today, with a gentle ripple from the W with a settled glass. Fish at Lac Auger should hold close to windblown banks where food collects. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Auger stands in Mauricie, Quebec. Pine and birch runs right down to the water. The water measures roughly 5 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. 50 km away sits La Tuque, the nearest town. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 158 km away. Within a short run: Lac Lefebvre within 1.5 km, Lac de la Tour a touch under 4.3 km, Lac Cutaway within 4.6 km, Lac Genereux a touch under 5.5 km and Lac Mac within 5.8 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout and walleye among the fish reported. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Auger the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Auger fishes to that pattern most years.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Lefebvre at 1.5 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Auger for certain.
