An even grey lid over the water, with a light SW breeze with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Audet should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

This water sits in Côte-Nord, Quebec. The water sits 505 metres up. Around 26 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. About 2.9 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Port-Cartier is the closest place, 57 km off. Saint-Alexandre is 57 km away, with Baie-Comeau at 93 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. The county list is broader than any single water. Lac Audet gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 15°C in July. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. After mid May the shallows warm and the fish move up. The lid tends to go about mid May and return around early November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Time your trip to Lac Audet by conditions rather than dates.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Sort the permit out before you load the car. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lac Jacques at 3.7 km is the nearest alternative. Rules at Lac Audet are worth checking on the day.
