Patchy cloud over the water after dark, with a firm WNW blow and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Atlas should be near the shallows early and the drop later. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Atlas lies within the bounds of Côte-Nord, Quebec. Elevation runs to 441 metres. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Most waters listed here for Côte-Nord are larger. Nearest place of any size is Forestville, 48 km away. Saguenay is the closest city, 130 km away. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. On Lac Atlas the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
In an average year July sits at 16°C and January at -17°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. The season on Lac Atlas follows the weather closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac des Bleuets at 1.1 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac Atlas may have changed since it was mapped.
