A still, cloudless night on the water, with a light chop building from the SW with a settled glass. On Lac Arthur, work the shaded margin through bright spells first. The day fishes best from night into morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Arthur falls in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, part of Quebec. It stands 369 metres above sea level. At roughly 5 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Roberval sits 42 km from here and is the nearest stop. After that come Saint-Prime at 45 km and Chambord at 46 km. Also worth knowing: Lac du Petit Canard about 1.5 km, 2.6 km away is Lac du Gros Canard, Lac Charley about 3.2 km, 3.6 km away is Lac Gerard and Lac Panache about 3.6 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Our records hold no depth for this water. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Take Lac Arthur a stretch at a time.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -17°C for January. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Lac Arthur rarely departs from it.
Access is not recorded for this water. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac du Petit Canard at 1.5 km is the sensible second choice.
