A rainy spell sitting over the area, with enough S wind to stack food downwind and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Arctique should come off structure within a cast of the bank. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Morning
The Mauricie end of Quebec holds Lac Arctique. It sits at 387 metres above sea level. Roughly 10 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Shoreline comes to about 1.7 km, small enough to learn in a day. Some 58 km away sits Métabetchouan, the nearest settlement. It is 118 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker among the fish reported. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Work Lac Arctique in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -16°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Anyone fishing Lac Arctique regularly works to that calendar.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. For a change of water, Lac du Chat is 1.9 km distant. Treat access at Lac Arctique as something to verify.
