Flat light and a covered sky today, with almost no wind to speak of and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac Anriac should come off the seam between weed and open water. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Anriac belongs to Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. It stands 391 metres above sea level. Around 13 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The bank runs about 2.1 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Supplies mean a trip to Deep River, 105 km off. Beyond it, Chalk River at 114 km and Val-d'Or at 120 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Anriac fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. That is the shape of the year on Lac Anriac.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Failing this one, try Lac Pagaie, 1 km away. Treat access at Lac Anriac as something to verify.
