Damp, showery conditions today, with just enough SSE wind to ripple the surface with the barometer flat. The productive water at Lac Anne will be around shallow cover and weed edges. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lac Anne in the Côte-Nord part of Quebec. Elevation runs to 122 metres. The water covers some 88 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Some 10 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. The closest town, Havre-Saint-Pierre, is 29 km distant. Further out sit Maliotenam (193 km) and Gaspé (198 km). The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name logperch. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. On Lac Anne the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Expect July to average close to 15°C, with January the cold end at about -15°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. At Lac Anne the season follows that pattern closely.
We hold no note on access for this one. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Uffin at 4.3 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac Anne.
