Solid cloud cover today, with hardly a ripple anywhere and no real change in pressure. On Lac Ann, work inflow corners and shaded margins first. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Small adjustments will matter more than big moves. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Quebec holds Lac Ann, in Mauricie. It sits at 409 metres above sea level. At about 12 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 1.3 km of margin, front to back. La Tuque is the closest town at 40 km. Laurentides is 73 km and Sainte-Thècle 74 km. Near neighbours include: 0.4 km out stands Lac Bill, Lac O'Bomsawin roughly 0.8 km, 2 km out stands Lac O'Basas, Lac Oblong roughly 2.5 km and 2.6 km out stands Lac Matamec. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Ann repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -16°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Ann.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Failing this one, try Lac Bill, 0.4 km away. For Lac Ann, the notice at the access point is the final word.
