Bands of rain crossing through the day, with air barely moving and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Amos should come off the seam between weed and open water. Save your energy for the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Capitale-Nationale end of Quebec holds Lac Amos. Elevation runs to 358 metres. Small at around 7 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Head to Laurentides, 28 km away, for anything you forgot. For a city, Sainte-Foy is 106 km off. Close by you have: Lac de la Belle Truite sits 1.9 km out, Lac de la Grosse Truite 2.5 km away, Lac Nobert sits 2.6 km out, Lac de la Bande 2.7 km away and Lac Gilles sits 3 km out. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth figures are not published for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Capitale-Nationale include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Fish Lac Amos to its features, not to its size.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. From about late April to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Expect Lac Amos to follow that timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. The nearest alternative is Lac de la Belle Truite, 1.9 km out. Check the current arrangement for Lac Amos.
