No direct sun expected today, with barely a breath of wind and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Aline should come off sheltered bays and points. The best of it runs night into morning. Small adjustments will matter more than big moves. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Within Mauricie, Quebec, you have Lac Aline. Everything around it is lake country bush. Surface area runs to about 5 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Supplies mean a trip to La Tuque, 36 km off. Laurentides is 66 km away, with Métabetchouan at 83 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout and walleye. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Aline the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Aline runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Lac Charles is 0.4 km distant. Check the position at Lac Aline before loading the car.
