Rain colouring the margins today, with dead-still conditions and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Alice should come off the first drop-off and weed lines. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Alice is set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. Elevation runs to 389 metres. It measures about 24 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The whole outline is near 2.6 km, and most of it is walkable. Start from Leblanc, 106 km down the road. Senneterre is 109 km and Lebel-sur-Quévillon 114 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Lac Alice a short move beats a long cast.
In an average year July sits at 16°C and January at -18°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. The season on Lac Alice follows the weather closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Jack, 2.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Ask locally about Lac Alice if anything is unclear.
