Flat light and a covered sky today, with barely a breath of wind and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Alice should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

The Côte-Nord entry here is Lac Alice, in Quebec. It stands 289 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 44 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The outline measures near 6.4 km, so local knowledge counts. Hauterive at 67 km is the nearest place to stop. Then Baie-Comeau, 70 km, and Chute-aux-Outardes, 70 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Lac Alice that means starting tight and working out.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. It holds true on Lac Alice more years than not.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Chien at 1.9 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Alice in particular, ask before you travel.
