Dull, settled light over the water, with a decent ENE wind working the banks with the glass holding level. Give points where shallow meets deep the first hour at Lac Albert. Block out the hours from afternoon into evening. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The cold will pin fish to deeper, stable water.

Lac Albert stands in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. It lies 190 metres above sea level. At some 2.04 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. At about 15 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Head to Kuujjuaq, 69 km away, for anything you forgot. It is 1092 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Take Lac Albert a stretch at a time.
The year swings from about -24°C in January to roughly 11°C in July. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early June. The season between ice runs from about early June to late October. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It holds true on Lac Albert more years than not.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Lac Saint-Pierre is 3.7 km off. Confirm before you fish Lac Albert.
