A closed sky with even light today, with light air out of the SSW and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac Aiseau should centre on structure within a cast of the bank. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Aiseau is one of the Outaouais waters in Quebec. What surrounds it is northern bush. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. Ferme-Neuve lies 85 km from the water. The big place round here is Gatineau, 202 km distant. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Aiseau repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -17°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. It holds true on Lac Aiseau more years than not.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Fouteau, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Aiseau for certain.
