Soft grey light all day today, with light air out of the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Aigu should come off any hard bottom among the soft. The forecast is against you; the middle of the day is the least bad option. Short, focused sessions beat a long grind today.

Lac Aigu belongs to Outaouais, Quebec. It sits at 365 metres above sea level. Roughly 10 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 1.9 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Some 67 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest settlement. Ferme-Neuve is 72 km away, with Maniwaki at 80 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt among the fish reported. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Treat Lac Aigu as a water to read rather than to cover.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -17°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. At Lac Aigu the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. For a change of water, Lac Justin is 0.8 km distant. For Lac Aigu, the notice at the access point is the final word.
