Showers crossing the water today, with a light SSE breeze and pressure going nowhere. On Lac a Pierre, work reed fringes and open pockets first. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac a Pierre. The coast is 4.5 km away. With some 10 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Bank access stretches around 1.4 km in total. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Havre-Saint-Pierre sits 41 km from here and is the nearest stop. Saguenay is the closest city, 541 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Côte-Nord include logperch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac a Pierre responds to conditions more than to tactics.
On the long-term average, July reads 15°C and January reads -14°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Lac a Pierre fishes to that pattern most years.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Failing this one, try Lac Hatche, 1.1 km away. Confirm before you fish Lac a Pierre.
