Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with mild air moving in from the SW with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac a Conde around shallow cover and weed edges. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Look for Lac a Conde in the Côte-Nord part of Quebec. The bank is 132 metres above sea level. At about 68 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. There is roughly 4.8 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. Head to Baie-Comeau, 37 km away, for anything you forgot. Saguenay is the closest city, 268 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac a Conde light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The range across the year is -14°C to 16°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Time your trip to Lac a Conde by conditions rather than dates.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. If the gate is shut, Lac Florence at 1.9 km is the nearest alternative. Signs at Lac a Conde carry more weight than any list.
