Willow Lake near Burford: Fishing Spots, Seasons and Access

• Where to Fish on Willow Lake

  Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Brant: rainbow darter, stonecat, greenside darter, blackside darter and smallmouth bass. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Willow Lake the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.

Averages suggest open water from about early April through to roughly mid December. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it.
