A grey, even sky over the water, with mild air moving in from the WNW with a settled glass. The fish at Wigwam Lake are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Wigwam Lake is listed under Algoma, Ontario. Everything around it is taiga. The water covers some 98 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. You are looking at roughly 6.0 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. Size puts it in the front rank of our Algoma list. You are 88 km from Kapuskasing. Chapleau follows at 103 km, then Hearst at 115 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Algoma include walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter, yellow perch and white sucker. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Take Wigwam Lake a stretch at a time.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -18°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Plan around that when you fish Wigwam Lake.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Dumbell Lake at 3.7 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Wigwam Lake in what we hold.
