Fishing at Walker Lake, Greater Sudbury, Ontario

• Overview

  Walker Lake is one of the Greater Sudbury waters in Ontario. Everything around it is pine and birch. This is sizeable water at about 3.97 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. On our Greater Sudbury list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Espanola is 21 km out. After that come Lively at 38 km and Little Current at 40 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.

• Where to Fish on Walker Lake

  Our records hold no depth for this water. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Greater Sudbury cover smallmouth bass, yellow perch and northern pike. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water.
