A mixed sky through the night, with a steady NW wind and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Waldrons Lake around points where shallow meets deep. The day holds up well from morning through afternoon. Work the productive water thoroughly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Parry Sound District end of Ontario holds Waldrons Lake. Elevation runs to 229 metres. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Parry Sound District list. 45 km away sits Parry Sound, the nearest town. For a city, Greater Sudbury is 110 km off. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Parry Sound District, recorded fish include smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Read Waldrons Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
The range across the year is -10°C to 19°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about mid April. Averages place the thaw at mid April and the freeze at early December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Plan any trip to Waldrons Lake around it.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Middle Shanty Bay Lake, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Waldrons Lake before loading the car.
