A closed sky with even light today, with just enough W wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Fish at Twisted Lake should hold close to windblown banks where food collects. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today.

In Ontario, Twisted Lake belongs to Sudbury. The land about it is pine and birch. With some 81 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The shoreline runs about 17 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. Dowling is the closest town at 50 km. Rayside-Balfour is 52 km away, with Valley East at 60 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Twisted Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The seasonal spread runs -15°C to 17°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Plan any trip to Twisted Lake around it.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. McDougall Lake, 2.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Ask locally about Twisted Lake if anything is unclear.
