An even grey lid over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the W and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Tower Lake should be near the calm side of the wind. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Tower Lake falls in Algoma, part of Ontario. The setting is mixed forest on every side. Surface area runs to about 7 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Our Algoma list holds plenty of bigger water. The town to know is Sault Ste. Marie, 34 km out. It is 222 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Reported across Algoma: walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Tower Lake gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
In an average year July sits at 18°C and January at -11°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Tower Lake.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. A picnic site 180 m off makes this workable with family in tow. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. If the gate is shut, Eleanor Lake at 1.5 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Tower Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
