A clean, cloudless night over the water, with a steady NW wind with the glass holding level. Activity on Tower Lake should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Tower Lake sits in Sudbury, out in Ontario. Elevation runs to 184 metres. Around 25 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge covers about 16 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. It lies lower than most water we list in Ontario. The town to know is Markstay-Warren, 58 km out. Greater Sudbury is the closest city, 62 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Tower Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Temperature averages peak at 19°C in July and bottom out at -10°C in January. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid April. Open water usually runs from mid April until about early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Tower Lake rarely departs from it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Fox Lake at 5.8 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Tower Lake in what we hold.
