Tilston Lake, Ontario: Fishing Spots and Seasons

• Overview

  Tilston Lake lies in Algoma, in Ontario. The bank is 365 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 94 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. With 10 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. On our Algoma list it sits near the top for size. Supplies mean a trip to Wawa, 58 km off. • Where to Fish on Tilston Lake

  Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Open biodiversity records for Algoma list walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water.
