Heavy overcast holding through the day, with flat calm through the day and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Tenor Lake along points where shallow meets deep. The productive run goes the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Tenor Lake lies within the bounds of Sudbury, Ontario. The land about it is mixed forest. At about 91 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge covers about 11 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. It sits higher than most water we list in Ontario. The closest town, Chapleau, is 31 km distant. It is 229 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Public occurrence data for Sudbury names smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Tenor Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 16°C and January reads -15°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. The lid tends to go about late April and return around mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Expect Tenor Lake to follow that timing.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Note Lake at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Tenor Lake for certain.
