Broken cloud drifting past the moon tonight, with a proper ripple driven from the NW and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Teal Lake around shallow cover and weed edges. Bank on the middle of the day and treat the rest as bonus. Keep expectations modest and fish carefully.

Teal Lake is set in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The country round it is rolling bush from end to end. With some 16 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Shoreline comes to about 2.5 km, small enough to learn in a day. Start from Dowling, 15 km down the road. It is 39 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Greater Sudbury include smallmouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike and pumpkinseed. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Teal Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -14°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. At Teal Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Seal Lake sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Teal Lake.
