A grey, even sky over the water, with a persistent wind from the W with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Stringers Lake should come off shallow cover and weed edges. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Stringers Lake lies within the bounds of Nipissing District, Ontario. It sits at 175 metres above sea level. At about 20 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. A shoreline of some 2.5 km keeps the choices simple. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. Petawawa lies 42 km from the water. Then Chalk River, 42 km, and Deep River, 48 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Reported across Nipissing District: smallmouth bass, cisco, yellow perch, pumpkinseed and rock bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Stringers Lake where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Temperature averages peak at 19°C in July and bottom out at -12°C in January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from late April until about early December. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Stringers Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Should this one be busy, Couchain Lake is 1.1 km off. Nothing on Stringers Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
