Rain on and off through the day, with air barely moving with the barometer flat. Fish at Soretooth Lake should hold close to sheltered bays and points. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Soretooth Lake lies in Sudbury, Ontario. Everything around it is taiga. With some 97 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 11 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. It ranks high for size among our Sudbury listings. The nearest place of any size is Chapleau, 42 km away. Wawa lies 62 km off, Hornepayne another 154 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Sudbury cover smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Treat Soretooth Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -16°C on the long-run figures. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Soretooth Lake to follow that timing.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is Hap Lake, 1.7 km out. None of that is settled for Soretooth Lake in what we hold.
