An even grey lid over the water, with a steady WNW wind and pressure sitting still. Activity on Robinson Lake should centre on inflow corners and shaded margins. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Look for Robinson Lake in Kenora District, Ontario. The ground around here is pine and birch. About 1.35 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. The perimeter runs near 5.4 km, so plan the walk before you start. The closest town, Ignace, is 13 km distant. Thunder Bay sits 206 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name northern pike, longnose sucker, white sucker and johnny darter. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Read Robinson Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan around that when you fish Robinson Lake.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Pratt Lake, 3.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Robinson Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
