A clear night sky over the water, with a faint W drift with a settled glass. The fish at Redwood Lake are likely to sit near the first drop-off and weed lines. Expect the better fishing from afternoon into evening. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
Redwood Lake falls in Algoma, part of Ontario. The setting is rolling bush. It measures about 16 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The full circuit measures close to 1.9 km on foot. The closest town, Wawa, is 54 km distant. Then Chapleau, 90 km, and Sault Ste. Marie, 115 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Algoma records list walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter, yellow perch and white sucker among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Redwood Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -14°C in January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. The season on Redwood Lake rarely departs from it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Callahan Lake is 1.7 km distant. Check the position at Redwood Lake before loading the car.
