A grey, even sky over the water, with just enough WSW wind to ripple the surface and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Pike Lake around any hard bottom among the soft. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Pike Lake lies within the bounds of Sudbury, Ontario. The surface lies 177 metres up. It measures about 24 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. Supplies mean a trip to Lively, 50 km off. Greater Sudbury sits 50 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Read Pike Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
The seasonal spread runs -11°C to 19°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. The open-water window runs from around late April to about early December in an average year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. That is the shape of the year on Pike Lake.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Allen Lake at 2.8 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Pike Lake.
