No direct sun expected today, with a persistent wind from the WNW and steady pressure. On Pardee Lake, work the seam between weed and open water first. If you must go, go in the evening. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Pardee Lake sits within Sudbury in Ontario. The bank gives way to northern bush. At about 21 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 4.0 km, small enough to learn in a day. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Ontario listings. 16 km away sits Chapleau, the nearest town. Wawa is 89 km away, with Sault Ste. Marie at 166 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Across Sudbury, recorded fish include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Pardee Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Pardee Lake that shapes the whole year.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Glabb Lake sits 2.3 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Pardee Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
