Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with a consistent blow out of the NW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Nordic Lake around points where shallow meets deep. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Nordic Lake stands in Algoma, Ontario. The country round it is mixed forest from end to end. Surface area runs to roughly 1.28 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. There is roughly 8.6 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. On our Algoma list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Elliot Lake is 3.3 km out. After that come Blind River at 34 km and Espanola at 65 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter and yellow perch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Treat Nordic Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
The year swings from about -11°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Nordic Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Parking sits 1.4 km out, which makes for a walk with tackle. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Metevier Lake, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Nordic Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
