Flat light and a covered sky today, with a consistent blow out of the WNW and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Nora Lake should be near points where shallow meets deep. A middling, even day, steady rather than spectacular. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Nora Lake is one of the Kenora District waters in Ontario. The water sits 424 metres up. It covers about 16.70 sq km, which means weather matters as much as tactics. The bank runs about 66 km in total, split between open shore and sheltered corners. Size puts it in the front rank of our Kenora District list. Ignace is the closest town at 28 km. For a city, Thunder Bay is 212 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Kenora District records list northern pike, longnose sucker and white sucker among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Fish Nora Lake to its features, not to its size.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -18°C for January. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about mid November in a typical year. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Plan around that when you fish Nora Lake.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Failing this one, try Dimple Lake, 6.4 km away. Nothing on Nora Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
