An even grey lid over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the NW and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Nora Lake should be near the shaded margin through bright spells. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Nora Lake is a Sudbury water, Ontario side. The country round it is rolling bush from end to end. It runs to roughly 16 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Bank access stretches around 2.9 km in total. Head to Timmins, 99 km away, for anything you forgot. Capreol is 100 km and Valley East 105 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Open biodiversity records for Sudbury list smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. At Nora Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Nora Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. You can camp about 1 km away, going by the mapping. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Speed Lake is 1.2 km off. None of that is settled for Nora Lake in what we hold.
